1. My girlfriend has been sending me photos of dresses she wants to wear to the university ball we are both attending next month.

I replied saying I was planning on wearing this.

I haven’t heard from her since.

She’s either too thrilled to reply,

Or I’m no longer going to med ball.

  2. The reaction after you hit a high note for the first time in singing practice, but no one either notices or is around to hear it.

  3. AUDIO/BOOTLEG MIXING GIFT

    To my fellow theatre lovers,

I recently attended a concert of my favourite bass-baritone, Teddy Tahu Rhodes, and I recorded the performance as a voice memo on my iPhone (soon to be uploaded for your listening pleasure).

I was able to mix and EQ the raw recordings to a very listenable state (I audio engineer quite a bit).

My gift to the theatre world: If you have a bootleg recording you’d like mixed, private message me with the details and I shall do it for you, no cost, no bargains or conditions. I’ll do my best to have to the most listenable it can be!

Let’s share this around and get our favourite audios sounding as best they can!

    Your friend,
    Phanatic19

  5. And that ladies and gentlemen, is how a baritone totally dominates the role of Phantom.

    So much tone.

  8. So despite having the flu, singing practice is going amazingly well. Even 6 months after surgery, I’m still learning my way around my voice, breaking bad habits that have been in place for a very long time!

I’ve been flung into the world of opera, which is challenging and exciting, with technique and language practice taking up most of my time! Hoping to audition for Opera Australia by the end of the year!

But Phantom remains my one true love, and as my voice gets better and stronger, I surprise myself with how far I’ve come. It’s still fairly high for me to sing, but it’s a whole heap of fun singing through the show I love so much!

Here’s a recording of me singing The Mirror from Phantom. It’s a little shaky in parts, just because I’m doing it all in chest voice for power, rather than letting it slide into my head voice!

Let me know what you think, I’ll do my best to post more and more!
